"When I planned and set up both the 1st Scottish Perthshire Hill Rally and the later Borders Hill Rally, the single most important factor was the quality and fun to drive aspects of the tracks and routes. When I visited Iceland 10 years ago I went wow! What a fantastic country for a long distant rally. Now 2009 and the dream is a reality. The stage routes provide some fantastically fast open space driving, technically demanding attention focussed twisting lava field routes. Power sapping climbs and scary descents. You can't avoid the fords but these ones are not submarine snorkel deep! The scenery is awesome, the natives friendly and justly proud of their country. Food and accommodation is warming and welcoming so why not give this new rally a go. I will be."
